Adult Tae Kwon Do
Our Adult Program emphases two main purposes, self defense and physical fitness. These two ideas of martial art training go hand and hand. Basically, the more physically fit you are the better you will be able to defend yourself. Of course, these two concepts are backed up with traditional martial art training that focuses on discipline and respect. The self defense that is taught is much more involved then what the children are taught. Adult students are taught five areas or zones of self defense. Each area is to help the students understand what to do in each situation and be able to prevent a confrontation altogether. If confrontation does occur, students are taught in what areas to use kicks, punches, knees, elbows, throws and grappling techniques to defend themselves.
The physical fitness part of the program teaches adult students proper stretching techniques, calisthenics, aerobic and anaerobic training. The conditioning of the human body through physical active is vital part of life. It protects the students from many different types of disease and gives people a higher quality of life. It promotes weight lose and relieves stress. Also, people that exercise are usually mentally shaper then those who do not. The mixture of this training methodology gives the students more confidence through the education of defending ones self and positive results of physical exercise.
